“The volunteer community DJs who have programs on Springfield radio station WQNA-FM are raising money to try to keep their programming available.
The 250-watt station, at 88.3 FM, has been put up for sale by the Capital Area Career Center, which houses the studio.
The career center provides more than 750 high school juniors and seniors what the center calls “career exploration and training” in 15 program areas. The center serves 21 high schools, including those in Springfield’s District 186. But Jodi Ferriell, CACC director, said in August that the “difficult decision” to sell the 40-year-old station results from lack of student interest.”
